Wisconsin head coach Mike Eaves
On whether or not the result was expected:
"The result was, which you might expect from two top college teams in the hockey world. It was an interesting game. I thought that we came out and played pretty well. We had some good life and some good scoring chances. After they scored their goal, for the guys on the bench it was like someone popped their balloon a little bit. It was disappointing, and we came out and readjusted after the first period, and we played some pretty good hockey and then we gave up a goal. It was a fantastic third period. It could have been an unbelievable third period had we held onto that lead, but it was fun to see us get the momentum going. It was a game that I thought that the puck was bouncing on us a lot. I think Justin Schultz was at the blue line and the puck was bouncing over his stick several times. It was one of those nights, but we stayed with it, and I give our guys credit. They stayed patiently persistent working at the things they wanted to, and at the end, we were rewarded by staying that way. Mentally, it was a grind in the third period and that was a really good thing. Unfortunately, we let it slide away. We gave up 23 shots to the number one team in the country, and that's a good thing."

On Wisconsin's overall play:
"I feel like we were coaching college kids today. There are some things that happened that we worked on and talked about and they were throwing them out the kitchen window and we were scrambling. We went down to four defensemen. Some of the things that we did and the mistakes we made were big and some of the mistakes that they made were big, and we took advantage of them. It was back and fourth, and in athletics, it's the team that makes less mistakes, and it's a team that takes advantage of the opportunities and finishes them. So, it was one of those games."

Senior Mike Davies
On the rivalry:
"In the past, this team has just killed us. We were down 2-0 and then everything just started going in, and we stayed with it. We just have to come back tomorrow and just like Blake said in the locker room, we have to stay confident and be ready to battle. It's going to be a war."

Senior Blake Geoffrion
On the rivalry:
"It has nothing to do with that at all. It's a new year with new guys. We have a new team, and they have a new team. It has nothing to do with it. We are all sick and tired of hearing about how they come in here and do well. It doesn't matter. It's a new team and a new year."

Junior Scott Gudmanson
On the back-to-back saves he made in overtime:
"The puck went to the guy in front, and he had a little chip shot and tried getting it back to the post. I got my toe on it and the guy got the rebound and tried to jam it in."
