The No. 13 Wisconsin women's openweight rowers begin competing on Friday at the 2008 NCAA Rowing Championships in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
Rancho Cordova is just over 2,000 miles from land-locked Madison, Wis., meaning it's a long way to cart 60-foot long racing shells for the NCAA championships.
