Vavrek, Rogers Lead Pack on Day 3

University of Wisconsin junior-to-be Jackie Vavrek and former Badger Dale Rogers each qualified for the finals of the 50-meter freestyle on the third day of competition at the ConocoPhillips National Championships at William Woollett Aquatics Center.
Vavrek, who won a swim-off to get the last spot, notched eighth in the C-Final with a mark of 26.43. Meanwhile, Rogers came in fourth in the B-Final with a time of 23.13.
Sophomore-to-be Scott Rice was an alternate for the 100-meter butterfly but did not race.
Competition continues tomorrow with the women's 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke and 800 freestyle, as well as the men's 100 freestyle, 200 IM and 1500 freestyle.
