UW Adds One More Swimmer
May 19, 2005 | Women's Swimming & Diving
The University of Wisconsin has signed one more swimmer to a National Letter of Intent to complete its 2005-06 recruiting class, head coach Eric Hansen announced. Previously, the Badgers had signed nine athletes to NLIs.
Michael Desautels, who hails from Bloomfield Hills, Mich., is a 2003-04 NISCA All-American in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. This year, he took second place in both events at the Michigan State Division 2 Championships.
'Michael is the final member of a really important recruiting class for us,' Hansen said. 'With such a large number of recruits on the men's side, we can fill a lot of gaps from the swimmers we lost to graduation.'
Desautels joins the six other men who have signed to compete for UW next year.
