Women's Swimmers Arid Against Arizona, ASU

The Wisconsin women's swimming and diving team fell to Arizona and Arizona State at the Arizona Triangular Friday in Tucson, Ariz. UA topped UW, 164-118, and ASU defeated UW 179.5-120.5, dropping the Badgers to 2-2 on the year.
Against all competition, frosh Carly Piper (Grosse Point, Mich.) picked up two wins for the Badgers, touching first in the 500 (4:58.10) and 1000 free (10:01.91).
In her best times of the season, junior Jenny Lyman (Englewood, Colo.) took first in the 50 (23.58) and 100 free (50.87) against ASU. Lyman's 100 time placed second against UA.
Against Arizona, sophomore Emily Pisula (Freeport, Ill.) also finished well, taking first in the 400 IM (4:24.41), second in the 100 breast (1:06.16) and second in the 200 breast (2:20.48). Pisula finished second in the 400 IM and third in the 100 and 200 breast against ASU.
In diving, senior Megan Kernan (Westmont, N.J.) finished in the No. 2 spot on the three-meter board, while sister Siobhan Kernan (Westmont, N.J.) took third on the one-meter against Arizona. Siobhan fared better against ASU, taking first on the one, while Megan again finished No. 2 on the three-meter board.
The Badgers play host to the Northwestern Wildcats Nov. 8 at the UW Natatorium at 5 p.m. The dual meet is the second of only three home meets this year for Wisconsin.
