The No. 13 Wisconsin men's swimming and diving team finished in third place at the Minnesota Invitational Sunday at Minneapolis. The Badgers only competed in two events Sunday, leaving early due to academic obligations and to maintain a regular training schedule.
'The weekend was a great success for us,' coach Eric Hansen said. 'We do need to make a few adjustments, but I really like where we are right now.'
Junior Troy Blanton (Worthington, Ohio) finished seventh in the 1650 free (16:11.70) and freshman Andrew Ackley (Raleigh, N.C.) took ninth (16:18.30).
In the 400 free relay, Wisconsin's two relay teams finished second and fourth.
'I felt we came together well in our relay efforts, ' said Hansen, whose top men's team took two firsts and three seconds in five relay events at Minnesota.
The Badgers now gear up for the Texas Invitational, Nov. 30-Dec. 2, in Austin, Texas.
