- Member of 2000 NHL All-Rookie Team
- Two-time NHL All-Star Game participant
- Played four years pro in Finnish Elite League before the NHL and named league's top defenseman in 1998 and 1999
- Two-time member of U.S. World Junior Team, winning bronze in 1992
- Played in 1998 and 1995 World Championships for Team USA
